Who we are

The Kano Chamber of Commerce is one of the foremost Chamber of Commerce in Nigeria and was established in 1992. The Chamber is an autonomous body controlled by it's members and it is completely non-political, it is a broad-based association with membership from all spheres of business and trades. it is the representative of the organized private sector in Kano State. it's council is the highest policy-making body of the Chamber members. The Director General is the Chief administrative officer of the Chamber and a council member.

Kano Chamber of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture was among founding members and pioneer signatories to National Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA). Presently, it has over 3000 members comprising small, Medium and Large Industry, commercial Agriculture, financial and professional establishment like farmers, lawyers, chartered Accountants, Engineers and Management Consultants etc.

OBJECTIVES

The aims and objectives of the Chamber include, among others the developmen' of commerce, industry, mines, and agriculture, promotion of the interest of the private sector (and the public in general). Establishment and promotion of meaningful economic relationship with foreign countries with a view to achieving development of the state and Nigeria in general.

Services To Members

The Chamber's activities are structured to provide the following services to its members;

  • Statistical and other information relating to trade, commerce shipping, and decisions.
  • Protection of members' business against undue harassment from the Government and it's policies.
  • Network and unity in the poll of successful industrialists, Businessmen, and Professionals to strengthen and consolidate business development.
  • Increase business credibility and reputation; a fundamental key to business fune success.
  • Access to KACCIMA publication such as KACCIMA business directory, Business News, Kano Economic Digest, and selective information Dissemination (SID) to support members' business interests.
  • Participating in Trade missions and trade meetings between local and foreign trade delegations visiting Kano or other parts of the country.
  • Annual Kano Trade Fair and other Trade Exhibitions/shows for the promotion of home goods and services.
  • The Chambers also issues certificates of origin to companies and organizations engaged in export business.
  • Sign MOU's with National and International Business Institutions for the benefit of members.

  • To protect the health, safety, and Economic Environment of all.
  • To be fair, firm, and transparent with Customer Suppliers, and Competitors.
  • To respect the right of fair competition as an acceptable Global phenomenon.
  • To respect the Confidentiality of business/trade secrets or information of Constituent Members entrusted to us.
  • Not to take advantage of fellow members' recognized weakness and n unethically seek to take over the ownerships of member's business or rights.
  • To promote and protect the interest of Private sector Operations by networking.
  • To shun any form of abuse of office, bribery, and corruption.
  • To always remain a partner with all tiers of Government but to be No hesitant to criticize or disagree with bad policies and/or actions of the Government.
  • To commend the good works and policies of Government to enhance by living standard and disagreement that may arise within the Chamber Commerce Movement Internally.
  • To settle disputes or disagreements that may arise within the Chamber of Commerce internally.
  • To avoid as much as possible any member taking grievance(s) to the court of law for settlement without first recourse to the intervention of the Chamber of Commerce as the case may be demanded.

Membership & Registration

To Register as a member of KACCIMA, a company needs to fulfill the following criteria:
  • 👉 Must be duly incorporated to carryout business in NIGERIA.
  • 👉 Must have a registered office in KANO or it's environments.
  • 👉 Should be sponsored by two financial members or a council member
  • 👉 Should complete membership application and attach copies of relevant documents for KACCIMA consideration
